Procession paintings
2014 – 2020:
Exploring the temporary nature of our consciousness in relation to the environment.

“‘Procession” series, started in 2014, continues to evolve from the experience of being immersed in crowds, mostly at festivals, carnivals, large music events and our everyday flow of people within cities. They are collages, by process, as much as they are paintings, in that they arrive from a splurge of observations to some kind of singular moment.
The landscape environments are mostly fictitious, using a drawn out process of gathering images and snapshots of the evolving natural environment and formations of light in the sky. These pieces are purposefully ambiguous, which reference nostalgia, our consciousness in relation to places and real events, whilst being other dimensional realities for the characters within.
